Pat McCusker is an audio producer, engineer, mixer, and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. Currently, he is a Sound Designer and Composer with at The New York Times. His music can be heard on the NYT podcasts "The Daily," "The Ezra Klein Show," “Modern Love” "Matter of Opinion" and "Hard Fork" among others. Pat has mixed for several of NYT's shows, including "Matter of Opinion," "The Argument" and "First Person."
Prior to 2022, he was the head audio engineer at The Slowdown media platform and made their podcasts "Time Sensitive," "At a Distance," and "The Workspace of Tomorrow" and their YouTube show, "Hello Fashion." Before shifting to the podcast world, Pat worked as an audio engineer/mixer at the music publishing company BMG Chrysalis. He has engineered for hundreds of artists in various genres. His credits include Chronixx, Estelle, David Duchovny, David Tenant, DJ Cassidy, Melo-X, Scott Harris, and Suboi. In addition to engineering work, Pat is a freelance music composer whose clients include Universal Music Publishing, American Idol, LEGO, The Slowdown and Room. Pat has toured the world as a guitarist and vocalist with the acclaimed actor and musician David Duchovny.
He has a B.M. in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music.
